Make the Armory work for you
Gear & upgrades
Every class starts with a complete Common set: six armor pieces and its class weapon configuration. You can play without spending Essence or ascending an item.
Inherent stats
Already built into your gear. Rarity ascension improves its core stats and Armor or weapon power. Strength, Intellect, Stamina and Spirit cannot be bought with Essence.
Purchased upgrades
Use Essence to choose eligible secondary stats. The Upgrades used / capacity display shows how much room is left. Rarity ascension keeps your purchases and does not add upgrade capacity.
- Unready, then open the Armory. Choose the class you want to edit; it can differ from your Lobby class.
- Select an armor piece or weapon. Review its current stats and available Upgrades.
- Choose a stat and confirm. Check the exact Essence price before spending.
Upgrade capacity & special choices
Armor has 20 total upgrade units: Head 3, Shoulders 2, Chest 5, Hands 2, Legs 4 and Feet 4. A complete weapon configuration has 6 units; paired items have 3 each.
Normal upgrades add +1 to the chosen stat and use 1 Upgrade. Prices increase as you invest. Use the item's quote to see your next cost.
Movement Speed: Feet only; grants +2% speed, uses all 4 Upgrades and costs 384 Essence. Feet must have no purchased upgrades. Reset existing upgrades first if you want this option.
Leech: Weapons only, excluding shields; uses 2 Upgrades per purchase. A complete weapon configuration allows at most 2 Leech purchases; Warden allows 1.
Resetting upgrades
A reset removes all purchased upgrades from one armor item, or the complete weapon configuration. You receive 90% of the Essence spent, rounded down. Rarity and unlocked appearances stay with you.
There is no partial reset. Review the refund shown before confirming.

Transcendence Badges
Class Badges are earned for the class you play. Spend them on that class's rarity ascensions.
- Complete a match
- 6 Class Badges
- Win bonus
- +2 Class Badges
Universal Badges can pay for any class. Earn 5 for each Account Level-up or Overflow Level; they substitute 1:1 for Class Badges.
Finish the match. Eligible rewards arrive after settlement. Kills, assists, damage and healing do not add Essence or badges. Voluntarily quitting or being disconnected when the match settles gives no match rewards.

Rarity ascension
Common
Your starting rarity
Epic
Account Level 10+
Legendary
Account Level 35+
In the Armory, select an item and choose Ascend. Meet the Account Level requirement and pay the badge cost to move to the next rarity. Reaching the level alone does not ascend your gear.
What changes
Core stats improve. Armor gains more protection; weapons gain power at the complete configuration's rarity. A paired configuration uses the lower rarity of its two components.
What stays
Your purchased upgrades remain. Ascension is permanent, with no rarity downgrade or badge refund. Previously unlocked appearances remain available.
You choose how to pay. The Armory uses Class Badges first by default. Adjust the split before confirming if you want to use more Universal Badges—even the full cost.
Badge costs by item
| Item | Common → Epic | Epic → Legendary |
|---|---|---|
| Head | 100 | 200 |
| Shoulders | 75 | 150 |
| Chest | 150 | 300 |
| Hands | 75 | 150 |
| Legs | 125 | 250 |
| Feet | 100 | 200 |
| Each paired weapon component | 75 | 150 |
| One two-handed weapon | 150 | 300 |
A complete armor-and-weapon set costs 775 badges from Common to Epic, then 1,550 from Epic to Legendary. Each paired component ascends separately.

Account Level
Earn 100 Account XP for an eligible completed match, plus 20 for a win. Your level applies to every class. Each level gained from 2 through 60 awards 25 Essence + 5 Universal Badges.
At Level 60, each further 1,280 XP earns an Overflow Level package of 25 Essence + 5 Universal Badges. Your Account Level remains 60. Class Badge match rewards increase to 9 for completion, +3 for a win.
Progress with the class you play
Class Rank
Class Rank reflects completed armor and weapon rarity ascensions for a particular class. It is separate from Account Level and competitive rating, and does not grant extra stats.
Novice
Less than half complete
Veteran
At least half, below complete
Champion
Every ascension complete
Common contributes 0 completed steps, Epic 1 and Legendary 2. Progress is added across the whole approved set, even if an item is not equipped. Your items do not all need to be Epic to become Veteran.
AssassinChampion · 16 / 16
WardenNovice · 3 / 16
Assassin, Tempestarii, Hierophant and Warden: 16 possible steps; Veteran at 8. Exorcist and Reaver: 14 possible steps; Veteran at 7. Two-handed weapons count once; paired components count separately.
Essence upgrades are separate. Spending Essence or earning Account XP does not directly increase Class Rank. Ascending gear for one class does not increase another class's rank.
A few things worth knowing
Common questions
Do I need upgraded gear to enter a match?
No. Your complete Common starting set is valid, and you can enter with no purchased Essence upgrades. Essence investment is not required to ascend rarity either.
Why can't I change my gear right now?
Unready in the Lobby before editing gear or spending progression currencies. Changes are locked during the match countdown and the match itself; return after settlement.
Does Cosmic or Inferno have separate progression?
No. The two faction presentations share the same progression for each class on your account. The Armory's View As toggle previews an appearance; it does not change stats, rarity or your match faction.
Will an older appearance lower my stats or Class Rank?
No. Appearance is separate from mechanical gear. Switching appearance does not undo earned ascensions or purchased upgrades.
Can I use one class's badges on another class?
Class Badges belong to their named class. Universal Badges can be used on any class. Astral Essence and Account Level are also shared across your account.
Can I check my Armory class without changing my Lobby class?
Yes. The Armory has its own class selector. The gear, Class Badge balance and Class Rank shown there follow the class you are editing.
